Project way
The State Institution "Territorial Center for Social Services of the population of the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk" is an organization that provides social support to residents of the district, including people with special needs. For the center, we have developed an AR application aimed at adapting to the everyday life of people with musculoskeletal disorders.
Project goals
- To make recommendations on housing adaptation more visible and understandable.
- To show how household items can look and work in an adapted environment.
- To help users better navigate everyday tasks: turning on the lights, using the stove, organizing the space.
- Make it easier for the center's specialists to explain the principles of an accessible environment.
Project description
For the Territorial Social Service Center of the Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk, we have developed an AR application that shows the buttons for turning on the light, the stove and the principles of its use, as well as other household items. This has helped to make the adaptation of housing for people with musculoskeletal disorders more visible and understandable.
Project solution
- We have created an AR application in which interactive elements of an adapted everyday life can be seen through the device's camera.
- We have prepared scenarios that reflect important everyday situations that help the user better understand how to organize the space to meet their needs.
Project results
As a result, the center has received a modern tool that makes learning household skills more visible and safer. The AR format allows users to "live out" typical situations in an adapted environment in advance, reduce anxiety and better prepare for the real operation of housing. The project has enhanced the social significance of the center's work and added a modern technological emphasis to it.
