Project way
The Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War is the largest museum in Belarus dedicated to preserving the memory of the events and heroes of 1941-1945. The museum combines historical exhibitions, unique artifacts and modern multimedia solutions.
Project goals
- Immerse the viewer in the atmosphere of one of the key battles of the Great Patriotic War.
- To make historical material more emotional, visual and memorable.
- To show military events not only as a chronicle, but as a live reconstruction with the effect of presence.
- To enhance the educational and memorial effect of the exhibition through the VR format.
Project description
For the exhibition, we prepared a VR video about a tank battle from the time of the Battle of Kursk: filmed live on the field with actors, real guns and explosions, and then supplemented the material with elements of virtual reality. This allowed us to create the effect of being completely immersed in historical events.
Project solution
- We filmed the set, brought in actors, and used real guns.
- We recorded the film in 360-video format for viewing in VR, and then added visual effects that enhanced the feeling of being present in battle.
- We prepared realistic explosions, the dynamics of a tank battle and allowed us to combine the documentary basis with immersive experience.
Project results
The result is a powerful VR material that helps to perceive the historical event in a new way and immerses the viewer deeper into the theme of the Battle of Kursk. The format enhanced the emotional impact and made the project more expressive for visitors to the exposition. It has become a modern multimedia element that complements the historical part of the exhibition.
